Duties:

• Manage a caseload primarily focused on Workers' Compensation defense, from case inception to trial.
• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and respond to written discovery, as well as dispositive motions.
• Perform thorough legal research to support case strategies.
• Take depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
• Review client documents and prepare case evaluations and status reports.
• Participate in mediations and court appearances.
• Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues to manage case progression.
• Collaborate with partners and staff on various litigation defense matters.
• Provide strategic legal advice and updates to clients and team members.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation defense.
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
• Experience in both state and federal court procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York State Bar Admission required.

Skills:

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet research tools.
• Strong case management skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues efficiently.
