Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in San Diego, CA is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join their civil litigation and coverage teams. This position offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of cases and develop professionally in a collaborative and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in property coverage, bodily injury, and bad faith defense, though this experience is not mandatory. This position offers flexibility with remote, contract, and "of counsel" options available.

Duties:

• Independently manage a caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys or partners.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, discovery, and coverage evaluations.
• Participate in court hearings, argue motions, and conduct depositions.
• Assist with trial preparation and, depending on experience, conduct trials.
• Engage with clients and maintain professional communication.
• Contribute to legal community involvement and the firm's overall success.

Requirements:

• Active membership in the California State Bar and good standing.
• 5-10 years of experience
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Must be based in California for remote work or admitted to practice in California.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
• Professional appearance and demeanor with a positive attitude.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• California State Bar License in good standing.

Skills:

• Legal research and writing.
• Trial preparation and litigation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Client management and professional conduct.
• Proficient in legal software (MS Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint).
