Job Title: Trial Attorney - Premises Liability

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Memphis, TN, is actively seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to join its growing team. This role focuses on managing a high-volume caseload of personal injury matters, specifically premises liability claims. The ideal candidate will have substantial jury trial experience, possess a tenacious courtroom presence, and demonstrate a strategic approach to litigation. The firm offers robust support infrastructure, innovative legal technology, and a collaborative environment designed to empower trial attorneys to advocate effectively for their clients.

Duties:

• Handle approximately 150 active cases, including 50+ in litigation at any given time

• Serve as lead attorney from intake through resolution or jury verdict

• Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and other pre-trial activities

• Prepare and respond to motions and develop detailed litigation strategies

• Serve as first-chair in jury trials, advocating for client interests

• Maintain consistent, clear, and empathetic communication with clients

• Collaborate closely with case managers, paralegals, and internal support teams

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in personal injury or civil litigation (plaintiff or defense)

• Preference for candidates with 5-8 years of experience and a significant plaintiff-side background

• At least 5 first-chair jury trial verdicts required; 10+ strongly preferred

• Proficiency in civil procedure, evidentiary rules, and trial advocacy

• Admission to the Tennessee State Bar and in good standing

• Additional bar admissions are a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Tennessee State Bar license

Skills:

• Excellent oral and written advocacy

• Strategic case planning and critical thinking

• Client-centered communication and rapport building

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment

• Technological aptitude, including familiarity with AI-based legal tools
