The candidate will advance the excellence of the faculty of the University and enhance the School of Law’s already-distinguished national and international reputation for important, engaged, and high-quality legal scholarship. Will possess a national or international reputation for scholarship and teaching of the highest caliber in the field of law. Should possess a JD degree. However, Tweedy Chair candidates who possess only an alternative advanced degree, such as a Ph.D. or S.J.D., and have also engaged in sustained research and scholarship related to the law involving interdisciplinary, jurisprudential, empirical, or social scientific work, will also be eligible for consideration.
