The role involves advising financial institutions on a wide range of U.S. bank regulatory matters, with additional focus on compliance and cross-border regulatory issues. This position offers exposure to international clients and close collaboration with internal financial services and government investigations teams. Ideal for a detail-oriented attorney with a strong academic background and interest in financial regulation, the role offers meaningful client interaction and a team-based work environment.

Location:

  • Charlotte, North Carolina

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on U.S. bank regulatory issues and compliance matters

  • Work closely with attorneys across financial regulatory, litigation, and investigations practices

  • Handle individual and project-based regulatory matters involving domestic and international financial institutions

  • Engage directly with clients and regulatory bodies on compliance and operational risk issues

  • Support clients in navigating complex legal frameworks involving the Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, and CFPB

  • Participate in cross-border matters, including occasional communication during international business hours

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of experience in financial regulatory law, compliance, or related areas

  • Prior work experience with a financial institution, regulatory agency, or financial services compliance firm is preferred but not required

  • Ability to manage client relationships and regulatory projects with professionalism and responsiveness

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar preferred

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of academic achievement and analytical ability

  • Familiarity with U.S. banking regulations and financial services compliance frameworks

  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team

  • Comfort with managing regulatory timelines and international client communications
