Restructuring Mid-Level Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with three to five years of experience to join its Restructuring practice group in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have experience in large transactions with a major law firm and possess both litigation and transactional skills.

Duties

• Represent debtors, creditors' and ad hoc committees, and asset acquirers.
• Handle unsecured creditors' committees, restructuring support agreements, DIPs, reorganization plans, and exit facilities.
• Research and draft pleadings and briefs related to the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.
• Engage in transactional work with an understanding of accounting and financial issues.

Requirements

• At least three years of restructuring experience.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research skills.
• Superb writing and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Admission to Washington, D.C. Bar (or ability to waive in).

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the Bar in Washington, D.C.

Skills

• Familiarity with the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.
• Transactional experience and understanding of financial issues.
