A distinguished law firm in Southfield, MI, is seeking a talented Litigation Associate with 4 to 7 years of experience in insurance-related disputes and general commercial litigation. This opportunity involves working with a legal team known for handling complex, high-value cases involving insurance coverage and reinsurance matters. Duties

• Analyze and advise on insurance coverage under a variety of policies, including:

  • Professional liability

  • General liability

  • Directors & officers (D&O) insurance

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda for complex litigation matters

• Oversee all phases of discovery, including written discovery and motion practice

• Participate in and take depositions

• Represent clients at court hearings and proceedings, appropriate to the experience level

• Support or lead case strategy and trial preparation

• Engage in business development efforts and client relationship management

• Manage cases independently while coordinating effectively with litigation teams

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of litigation experience with an emphasis on insurance coverage and commercial disputes

• Deep understanding of policy interpretation and insurer-side representation

• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proven capability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar

• Eligibility for admission to practice in Michigan or the ability to obtain promptly
