Managing Counsel - Health Affairs

Duties: Provide statutory and regulatory interpretation and drafting of legal guidance. Research, review and advise on potential conflicts of interest. Respond to legal inquiries from SUNY System and campus clients. Provide risk management (including scientific misconduct avoidance) and clinical safety guidance. Advise on health and information technology, telemedicine managed care and medical malpractice. Analyze and advise on provider-based rules, Medicare/Medicaid Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and Conditions for Coverage. Provide advice and legal guidance regarding clinical trials & sponsored research compliance (including animal research). Research and sponsored research projects (including basic science, government and foundation research, product development, animal and human subjects research, and clinical trials). Provide guidance on lab safety (environmental concerns) regulations as well as use of pharmaceutical drugs and controlled substances. Handle revenue cycle appeals. Perform special projects as well as other duties as may be assigned by OGC Leadership.
