Associate Attorney - Business and Tort Litigation

Profile

A law firm seeks a skilled associate attorney to join its Houston office in the Business and Tort Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial litigation. Duties:

• Handle complex commercial and tort litigation matters, with an emphasis on business disputes.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and client objectives.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies.
• Maintain client relationships and provide regular updates on case progress.
• Assist in trial preparation and take responsibility for various aspects of case management.
• Ensure compliance with legal deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in business and tort litigation or commercial litigation.
• Strong academic background with excellent writing and analytical abilities.
• Experience with depositions, hearings, and trial work is preferred.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the bar in the state of Texas.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in legal research and analysis.
• Ability to manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Experience in drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and representing clients at hearings.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing client relationships.
