A law firm seeks a Data Protection, Privacy, and Security Associate to join its Washington, DC office. This role involves advising global organizations on privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance matters, with a focus on U.S. state and federal privacy laws and cross-border compliance initiatives.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs and contracts.
• Manage complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies.
• Participate in high-level legal activities such as trials and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.
• Engage in professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to firm programs and community involvement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or regulatory advisory work preferred.
• Exposure to global privacy programs or compliance frameworks is advantageous.
• In-house or regulatory experience is a plus.
• Experience with AmLaw 100 firms is desirable.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in District of Columbia or New York.
