A national defense law firm is seeking a Cybersecurity & Class Action Associate Attorney to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role is ideal for a litigation attorney with strong interest or experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, and class action defense. The position offers hands-on work with high-profile privacy lawsuits, regulatory investigations, and cutting-edge legal issues. A hybrid work model is available for eligible candidates.

Assist in the defense of data breach and privacy class action lawsuits filed in federal and state courts
Conduct legal research and provide analysis of U.S. and international privacy laws
Respond to government and regulatory investigations related to cybersecurity incidents
Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery responses
Participate in and take depositions; work closely with expert witnesses
Support legal teams with e-Discovery strategy and document management
Collaborate on case strategy and provide updates to clients and insurers
Minimum 2 years of complex litigation experience in federal and/or state courts
Prior experience or strong interest in data privacy and cybersecurity law
Experience with class action defense preferred but not required
Knowledge of BIPA, VPPA, CCPA, GDPR, and other privacy frameworks is a plus
Familiarity with state and federal rules of civil procedure
Strong understanding of litigation workflows and deadlines
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Admission in Washington, D.C., or eligibility for admission by waiver preferred
Excellent legal research and brief writing abilities
Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
Highly organized, with ability to manage deadlines across multiple cases
Proficiency with large-scale e-Discovery platforms and litigation tools
Team-oriented, collaborative mindset with ability to work independently
