Responsibilities: Communicates with clients in person, by phone, and in meetings to gather needed information. Enters client information into computer software and produces and edits legal documents using checklists. Completes edits by attorney and prepares documents for signing by clients. Drafts letters, succession pleadings, and other legal documents. Coordinates with clients and providers to obtain beneficiary forms and update clients’ beneficiary designations. Assists with transfer of assets to and from trusts and other legal entities. Completes Medicaid and VA applications and communicates with clients to obtain necessary information for same. Maintains files, copies documents, requests checks, completes courier instruction. Creates spreadsheets detailing clients assets and organizes and indexes same, Answers phones on an as-needed basis. Keeps up with time and bills same to clients on hourly files. Constantly strives to improve procedures for those things for which he or she is responsible. Takes ownership of assigned matters, keeps status of matters up to date and reports to supervising attorney on regular basis regarding status of matter.
