A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-level Consumer Financial Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in regulatory matters. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in consumer financial regulations, particularly those related to payments and credit products at both state and federal levels, and a solid understanding of unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, are crucial for this position. Candidates with experience in emerging platforms/FinTech, mortgage lenders/services, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets are highly desirable. This role requires active membership in a local Bar association in good standing.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and expertise on regulatory matters related to consumer financial regulations.
• Navigate and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to payments and credit products.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to address regulatory issues.
• Assist clients in compliance with unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws.
• Stay informed about evolving regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Collaborate with clients to develop strategies for regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of legal experience focused on regulatory matters.
• Proficiency in consumer financial regulations, particularly in payments and credit products.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of emerging platforms/FinTech, mortgage lenders/services, cryptocurrency, and digital assets is a plus.
• Active membership in a local Bar association in good standing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be a member of a local Bar association in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in consumer financial regulations, payments, and credit products.
• Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to conduct in-depth legal research and analysis.
