A law firm in Charleston, WV, is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of employment litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling employment-related cases, including drafting responsive pleadings, managing the discovery process, drafting motions (including motions for summary judgment), conducting depositions, making court appearances, and working with local, state, and federal agencies. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, and candidates must be licensed in West Virginia.

Duties:

• Handle employment litigation cases, including drafting responsive pleadings and managing all aspects of the discovery process.
• Draft legal motions, including motions for summary judgment.
• Conduct depositions, hearings, and court appearances effectively.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, advocating for their interests.
• Work with local, state, and federal agencies on employment-related matters.
• Conduct legal research and case investigations to support client matters.
• Draft, review, and edit legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Provide regular updates on case progress and legal advice to clients.
• Maintain organized case files, documentation, and client communication.
• Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of employment litigation experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Active Bar membership in the state of West Virginia.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in the state of West Virginia is mandatory for this role.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
