Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a junior-level Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate, Energy, Environmental & Land Use practice in New York. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience handling sophisticated real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, real estate finance matters (representing both borrowers and lenders), and commercial lease negotiations. This position offers the opportunity to work within one of the largest and most experienced real estate legal teams in the country, supporting a variety of high-value clients and projects.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Support a full-service real estate practice with a focus on:

    • Purchase and sale transactions

    • Real estate finance (borrower and lender representation)

    • Commercial lease agreements

  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex deal structuring and closings

  • Conduct due diligence and manage transaction timelines

  • Interact with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel to facilitate transactions

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience working on a variety of real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to complex real estate deals

  • Willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic, multi-faceted legal team

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top-tier, ABA-accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic performance required

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New York (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation abilities

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Eagerness to develop new skills across real estate and related practice areas
