Job Overview:

A prominent law firm, with a long-standing history of excellence and a strong Northeast presence, is looking for an Immigration Attorney with business or employment-based immigration experience to join their dynamic team. This opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking a hybrid remote role with opportunities for growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for immigration law and a desire to make a meaningful impact while working with a team of experienced attorneys.

Duties:

  • Prepare a variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, O-1) and immigrant visa petitions (employment and family-based), including forms preparation and supporting documentation.

  • Handle immigrant visa petitions including PERM, EB-1, NIW, EB-2, and EB-3 classifications.

  • Assist healthcare clients with Schedule A Nurse petitions, J-1 waiver applications, and other related immigration matters.

  • Guide form I-9 and E-Verify issues.

  • Directly represent clients before relevant government agencies.

  • Review and approve client petitions, applications, and evidence for submission to immigration authorities.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in business or employment-based immigration law with a high-volume practice.

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar, or eligibility for admission in another state.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, especially for complex support letters.

  • A writing sample will be required for consideration.

  • Foreign language skills (e.g., Arabic, Portuguese, Romanian, Mandarin, Polish) are a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Connecticut or another state.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to show patience and empathy, especially when interacting with clients.

  • Strong ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of immigration laws and processes, particularly in the context of business and employment-based immigration.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with professionals at various levels of the firm.

  • Comfortable working in a hybrid remote environment.
