Law Student Internships
The candidate work closely with the District's legal unit performing tasks including: legal research and writing; functioning as team members on district litigation and performing tasks such as discovery assistance, interviews and claimant development. Attend internal legal/enforcement meetings, local conferences, trials and hearings which occur during the period of their internship. Provide with exposure to all aspects of the EEOC process (intake, investigation, federal hearings and introduction to mediation). Give opportunities to work with district personnel outside the legal unit. Must have work between 28 and 32 hours per week. Academic year must work 5-10 hours per week. Must have completed one year of law school. Must have excellent writing skills and people skills and interest in public interest work legal work.
