Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm based in Salinas, CA, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney. This role requires managing all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from initial evaluation to trial and settlement. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to provide expert legal guidance and representation.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases, ranging in complexity
• Develop and implement litigation strategies
• Create and maintain case budgets as required
• Conduct discovery processes, including depositions and interrogatories
• Appear in court and at other legal proceedings as necessary
• Prepare for and participate in trials, maintaining high levels of client engagement
• Draft and review legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence
• Provide ongoing communication and counsel to clients throughout the case process
• Negotiate settlements when appropriate

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense
• Strong litigation skills and experience handling all aspects of case preparation and trial
• Ability to manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California

Certifications:

• California State Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of workers' compensation law and defense strategies
• Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
