A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney specializing in Compensation and Benefits to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans, including ERISA compliance and related regulatory matters.

• Advise on plan design, administration, and compliance with ERISA.
• Counsel on benefit plan issues in mergers and acquisitions.
• Draft plan documents and disclosures.
• Conduct compliance testing and manage IRS and Department of Labor filings.
• Handle audits and correction matters.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience with ESOP transactions and ERISA plan asset rules is a plus.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Superior writing, oral communication, and analytical skills.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Bar admission in the state of Illinois.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
