This role is perfect for a business-oriented attorney with expertise in employment law and a proven ability to handle sophisticated matters for clients. The position offers 100% remote work flexibility and provides a transparent, results-driven environment where partners retain a large portion of the revenue they generate.

Duties:

  • Employment Law Advisory:

    • Advise clients on a variety of employment matters, including wage and hour laws, non-compete agreements, workplace safety, and employee benefits.
    • Counsel employers on workplace harassment, employee discrimination, wrongful discharge, and other employment-related issues.
    • Draft and review comprehensive employment policies and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Transaction Support and Risk Analysis:

    • Analyze and advise on employment-related issues in complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including both domestic and international transactions.
    • Provide legal guidance on the employment aspects of corporate reorganizations, asset sales, and other major corporate changes.
  • Employer Representation:

    • Represent employer clients in all aspects of employment law, providing strategic advice and handling litigation when necessary.
    • Ensure clients’ interests are well-represented in employment disputes, including defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
  • Client Relationship and Business Development:

    • Cultivate and maintain a portable client base generating at least $250,000 annually in revenue.
    • Leverage a strong professional network to build new business opportunities and expand the firm’s client base.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on employer-side representation.
  • Proven experience managing complex employment matters in a business-centric law firm.
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or a similarly prestigious firm.
  • A portable client base generating at least $250,000 in annual revenue, or a compelling business plan that demonstrates strong potential for future client development.
  • Experience with employment law issues in the context of M&A transactions is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the relevant state bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Strong experience advising on workplace harassment, employee relations, wage and hour laws, and non-compete agreements.
  • Ability to represent clients in high-stakes employment disputes, including litigation and mediation.
  • Experience advising on the employment aspects of M&A and corporate transactions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong client management and business development capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote, flexible work environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues.

Benefits:

  • 100% remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere.
  • No minimum billable hour quotas.
  • Transparent and equitable compensation model, where partners retain 80-90% of client revenue.
  • A collaborative, merit-based culture that rewards success without the burden of unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career recognition within a nationally acclaimed firm.
