A respected law firm based in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its expanding immigration practice. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to work closely with experienced legal professionals, advocating for both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings and family-based immigration matters. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a team committed to impactful legal advocacy.

Duties:

  • Interpret immigration procedures and deliver tailored guidance to clients

  • Advocate on behalf of clients before immigration courts and appellate bodies

  • Conduct intake sessions with individuals at detention facilities

  • Draft and review a variety of immigration filings, including removal defense and family-based petitions

  • Evaluate case strategies and support clients and witnesses in preparation for hearings and interviews

  • Liaise with community partners, law enforcement, and prosecutors to discuss evolving immigration policies

  • Maintain a consistent caseload and ensure timely updates and filings

  • Conduct client consultations and provide thorough legal assessments

  • Submit written arguments and legal briefs for complex immigration matters

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases independently

  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills

  • Experience with removal defense, family-based applications, and humanitarian relief

  • Comfortable with both detained and non-detained casework

  • Familiarity with legal practice management systems (preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction in good standing

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license required (State Bar jurisdiction flexible)

Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Analytical and strategic thinking in complex legal scenarios

  • Confident oral and written advocacy

  • Collaborative approach to team-based legal work
