Global Compliance Lead
The candidate reports to the General Counsel and serves as the principal point of contact and resource on compliance matters. Provides leadership, direction, professional expertise on, and execution of, global internal compliance matters relative to the business operations of the company, including interactions with healthcare professionals, adherence to international anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws, privacy and data security laws and other compliance frameworks applicable to medical device manufacturers and diagnostic laboratories. Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on compliance issues and the company’s compliance program. Create and/or implement policies and procedures for identified risk areas globally. Identify and implement training and education plans for company employees in collaboration with laboratory, quality and regulatory personnel and general managers of company business operations on compliance policies and the legal and regulatory framework underlying those policies. Undertake compliance monitoring and auditing; and subsequently work with relevant functions to develop, implement and measure corrective action plans identified through such compliance monitoring and auditing activities. Travel with company representatives and visit regional sites to build relationships, conduct training, understand local culture and issues and undertake compliance audit or investigative tasks. Investigate reports of alleged non-compliance received from employees, third parties and the hotline ensuring that appropriate and consistent corrective actions are implemented for compliance issues. Track issues and corrective actions to establish targeted training as needed,. Monitor the regulatory environment, determine the potential impact of regulatory changes on the compliance program globally, and oversee necessary changes to compliance policies and processes. Work closely with other employees responsible for compliance to ensure consistency in approach across all areas of the business and globally, including supporting and coaching of local compliance personnel in the regions. Foster a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour across and throughout the company, developing strong working relationships with key business leaders to help ensure Compliance involvement in critical business initiatives. Serves as secretary and administrative assistant to the company’s Compliance Committee, preparing agenda and minutes of meetings, generating and updating KPIs to demonstrate program progress, and providing periodic reports to the committee. Monitors and provides status updates to the General Counsel on the company’s compliance program and creates and implements action plans as necessary to address performance gaps.
