Job Overview

A law firm seeks an SIU Litigation Attorney with at least four years of experience for its New York, NY office. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in combating fraud within the insurance industry and possess robust litigation and investigative skills.

Duties

• Collaborate with SIU departments to defend against fraudulent claims.
• Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud actions, including RICO and other affirmative actions.
• Develop litigation strategies and negotiate complex matters.
• Review file assignments and strategize for resolution.
• Draft motions, memorandums, and legal briefs as required.
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including expert witness appearances.
• Prepare and conduct court appearances in State and Federal Court.
• Negotiate settlements and draft related documents.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing and negotiation skills.
• Experience with BI, UM, Trucking and Transportation, Labor Law, First Party Property, PIP, and Work Comp preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
