Job Title: Estate Planning Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Estate Planning Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients navigate sensitive legal matters, focusing on estate planning, elder law, and asset protection. The attorney will be responsible for working closely with clients to develop personalized estate plans, including Trusts, Wills, Medicaid Applications, and Probate services. The law firm offers a unique culture where attorneys can focus on meaningful legal work while being supported by a strong team of paralegals.

Duties:

• Meet with clients to discuss estate planning needs and offer tailored solutions
• Handle the sales aspect of initial meetings and "close the deal"
• Follow up with clients if the agreement was not finalized during the first meeting
• Review and update outdated estate plans for clients
• Maintain consistent contact with clients through phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person consultations
• Contribute to the firm’s marketing efforts by creating content for articles, blogs, and other platforms

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience, with strong preference for Estate Planning and/or Elder Law experience
• Licensed member of the Michigan Bar
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, showing compassion and empathy
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in client interactions
• Dynamic, driven, and committed to contributing to the firm's success

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active Michigan Bar membership

Certifications:

• Required: Michigan Bar Association Membership

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to connect with and guide clients through sensitive legal decisions
• Strong sales acumen and ability to "close the deal"
• Competence in drafting and reviewing estate planning documents
• Experience with or interest in contributing to the firm’s marketing content
