Job Title: Litigation Attorney
Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with a minimum of five years of substantive experience handling complex commercial disputes. This opportunity involves a diverse range of litigation work, including significant exposure to business, regulatory, and administrative matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in courtroom settings, proficiency in motion and discovery practice, and a readiness to manage a demanding caseload. Candidates should be self-driven, adaptable, and eager to play a key role within a dynamic legal team environment.
Duties:
Draft and argue motions including summary judgment, dismissal, and discovery-related applications in both federal and state courts
Manage case strategy from initiation through resolution, including mediation and trial
Prepare pleadings, conduct legal research, and develop complex litigation briefs
Represent clients at hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations
Engage in administrative litigation before various regulatory bodies such as OSHA, CMS, and state licensing boards
Conduct and defend depositions, including both fact and expert witnesses
Lead Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and Temporary Injunction proceedings
Participate in strategic planning and client advisory for high-stakes litigation matters
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of active litigation experience within a reputable law firm setting
3 years of trial experience
Proven experience in managing complex commercial cases
Demonstrated history of courtroom leadership, including evidentiary hearings and dispositive motions
Skilled in mediation and negotiation techniques
Familiarity with regulatory and administrative agency proceedings
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
Previous trial experience spanning both bench and jury trials
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Texas Bar admission (mandatory)
Skills:
Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
Strong analytical and legal reasoning abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communicator with clients, colleagues, and court personnel
