Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Atlanta, GA, to join their domestic law division. The candidate will manage both non-complex and complex domestic cases, draft legal documents, and represent clients in court. Experience in family law is required, and probate law experience is advantageous.

Duties

• Conduct client meetings, including initial consultations.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and court orders for divorce, child custody, and related matters.
• Develop litigation strategies based on client objectives.
• Negotiate settlement agreements.
• Apply Georgia law, including local court rules and state statutes.
• Manage cases from inception to closure.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Handle probate cases, including estate administration and related litigation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in family law litigation.
• Experience in probate law is a plus.
• Familiarity with various legal documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport with clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree.

Certifications

• GA Bar License (Required).
