A law firm in Sherman Oaks is seeking a Senior Federal Litigation Attorney with expertise in federal immigration law. The ideal candidate will lead complex federal immigration litigation cases, manage a federal litigation team, and provide expert legal counsel to clients.

 

Job Duties:

  • Manage a federal litigation team, including lawyers, paralegals, and clerks.
  • Lead complex federal immigration litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on federal immigration laws and regulations.
  • Develop effective case strategies and provide expert legal counsel to clients.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in federal courts, immigration courts, and administrative hearings.
  • Conduct depositions, examinations, and cross-examinations of witnesses.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals to ensure cohesive case management and strategy.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and federal court decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and regular updates.
  • Handle legal negotiations with opposing counsel and government agencies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the states of Michigan, California, and New York.
  • 8+ years of experience practicing federal immigration law.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Extensive experience representing clients in federal courts and administrative agencies.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of handling federal immigration cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, or related software.
