Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney in Ocala, FL. The candidate will have a strong foundation in various legal areas, including estate planning, criminal, and family law. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and effective legal document drafting. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients to provide comprehensive legal support and representation.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
• Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
• Provide legal counsel in criminal, family law, and estate planning.
• Represent clients in negotiations and litigation proceedings.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting clients' interests, particularly in environmental and tribal law.
• Collaborate with the senior attorney on complex cases while managing a caseload independently.
• Maintain organized records of all case-related documents and communications within the law office.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and a valid license to practice law in good standing.
• Strong background in litigation with experience in negotiation preferred.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting.
• Familiarity with various areas of law, including criminal and family law.
• Prior legal administrative experience is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• New attorneys with relevant internships or clinical experience are encouraged to apply.

Education
