A well-regarded boutique law firm is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney to join its team in Torrance, California. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate or early-career attorney who is eager to gain hands-on experience in estate, probate, family, and business law. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and paralegals, attend court hearings, conduct research, and draft legal documents. This is a growth-oriented opportunity for a motivated attorney to build litigation and client counseling experience in a supportive environment.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements

  • Assist with hearings, court appearances, and other legal proceedings under supervision

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic input on client matters

  • Maintain and organize client files and documentation

  • Draft correspondence, declarations, briefs, contracts, and affidavits

  • Identify and organize evidence to support client claims; prepare statements of fact with evidentiary citations

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to advance cases efficiently

  • Support contract negotiations and litigation preparation

  • Meet monthly billable hour requirements (140 hours/month)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in probate, family law, business litigation, or trust law preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage legal research and drafting responsibilities

  • Courtroom or hearing experience is a plus

  • Able to meet billable hour targets and manage multiple priorities

  • Willingness to work collaboratively and take initiative in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California

  • Must have passed the California Bar Exam

  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California

  • ABA membership preferred

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Effective time management and task prioritization

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Comfortable working closely with senior attorneys and independently
