Duties

  • Assist in prosecuting FEHA matters from pre-litigation through settlement or trial.
  • Handle cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and disability accommodation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare for and take depositions, including defending client depositions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients on case strategy and execution.
  • Independently handle court appearances, mediations, and tactical litigation tasks.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals as needed.
  • Support the Team Leader/Partner in advancing complex employment litigation matters.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active and good-standing membership with the California State Bar.
  • Strong experience as an Employment Attorney litigating FEHA claims on behalf of employees.
  • 1-3 years of experience for Junior Associate Attorney.
  • 4-6 years of experience for Associate Attorney.
  • Experience handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, interactive process, and leave-related matters.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Deposition, mediation, and trial preparation experience strongly preferred.
