Duties

• Develop and grow the firm's adoption practice, including domestic, stepparent, and agency adoptions.
• Handle all aspects of adoption cases, from initial consultation through finalization.
• Prepare and file petitions, consents, notices, and related legal documents.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, and agency proceedings.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff as the practice grows.
• Collaborate with the existing team to integrate adoption services into the firm's overall offerings.
• Stay current on California adoption law and best practices.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum 3-5 years of adoption and/or guardianship law experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build or manage a legal practice is a plus.
• Strong client-focused communication skills.
• Commitment to ethical, professional practice.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
