Manager of Lateral Due Diligence
The candidate will work with Lateral Partner team members to review and provide analyses on LPQs, business plans, evaluations, etc. to identify areas requiring further diligence. Follow up with candidates directly as necessary. Oversee and drive the lateral partner diligence process to ensure efficiency and that relevant data is being captured. Provide analysis and recommendations for diligence follow-up/resolution. Assist with maintaining lateral candidate tracking system {ViRecruit} to include candidate intake systems and reporting dashboard. Manage day-to-day activities and support development of Lateral Partner Diligence and Integration Coordinator. Monitor conflicts and research team activity to ensure appropriate due diligence is executed on each candidate at the appropriate inflection points in the process. Work directly with conflict lawyers and lateral candidates to identify potential conflicts and evaluate financials and client portability. Connect with the research services team to review and evaluate social media search results. Perform former firm (alumni) diligence and existing client notifications and recommend additional action/analysis. Collaborate with the analytics team to support, and further evolve lateral partner performance/ benchmarking reporting. Complete diligence projects to gather market intelligence and report on lateral hiring trends and statistics management. Work with the Lateral Partner integration team to report on statistics regarding lateral partner performance. Collaborate with Associate Recruiting Team to maintain Lateral Placement Agreements. Assist with special projects, as needed. Should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education. Should have 5 years of directly related experience during which knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the position were attained. Knowledge of and familiarity with legal conflicts terminology is strongly preferred. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment in a professional capacity is required. Should have demonstrated knowledge of and familiarity with legal and business environments. Intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents. Advanced knowledge of Excel functions is required. Familiarity with recruiting technology is required. Should have demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with lawyers, business professionals, vendors, and the public. Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate information with tact and courtesy, as well as follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, lawyers, and business professionals. Should have demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment that includes multiple locations, to meet deadlines and daily requirements. Should have the ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding both routine and complex matters. Involves the use of considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion in gaining the cooperation of others; demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and friendly manner to accomplish position financial professional experience, high tech and/or intellectual property, litigation, or contracting experience a plus. MBA or CPA preferred.
