A law firm seeks a driven and detail-oriented Senior Tax Associate to join their team in Annapolis, MD. This role involves working closely with experienced attorneys on complex tax controversy matters, offering hands-on experience and growth potential in a high-impact legal area.

Duties

• Assist in representing clients in federal and state tax audits, appeals, and litigation.
• Draft legal memoranda, IRS correspondence, and Tax Court petitions.
• Conduct legal research on the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, case law, and IRS guidance.
• Support the preparation and negotiation of Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements, and other tax resolutions.
• Assist with collection due process hearings and innocent spouse claims.
• Interact with clients and government agencies professionally and timely.
• Maintain and organize case files, documentation, and legal records.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Maryland preferred).
• 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in tax controversy, tax law, or litigation.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
