Job Overview

A law firm seeks an admitted attorney within Puerto Rico for a promising Remote Immigration Attorney position. This role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to gain valuable experience with an established firm. The attorney will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and manage their caseload while collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
• Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a workload of diverse cases.
• Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers.
• Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration application packets as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients.
• Develop strategies and prepare clients for court/USCIS testimony.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Ability to work collaboratively and strategize with associates.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico.
