Associate Employment Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Employment Litigation Attorney to join its Torrance, CA, office on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work on plaintiff-side class actions and individual discrimination and harassment matters under the supervision of senior litigation counsel.

Duties

• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and briefs in state and federal court

• Conduct factual and legal research on California employment statutes and case law

• Manage all phases of class-action and individual employment litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client counseling

• Prepare correspondence, settlement proposals, and court filings

• Coordinate with paralegals and support staff to ensure the timely progression of cases

Requirements

• Admission to the California State Bar (or imminent eligibility)

• 1–4 years of employment litigation experience, with a focus on plaintiff-side class actions or individual discrimination claims

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration

• Self-motivated, disciplined, and eager to take on substantive responsibilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar

Skills

• Advanced motion drafting and oral advocacy

• In-depth knowledge of California employment law and class-action procedures

• Proficient in e-filing systems and Microsoft Office Suite
