Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a driven and detail-oriented associate attorney to support its community association and real estate practice. The role involves providing proactive legal support to condominium and homeowners’ associations, along with limited litigation-related tasks. The position focuses heavily on advisory work, transactional matters, and statutory compliance. Ideal candidates will bring a background in community association law or similar corporate advisory services, and demonstrate strong legal research, drafting, and client service capabilities.

Duties:

• Deliver legal guidance to community associations and similar business entities

• Draft, review, and revise governing documents, contracts, and related legal instruments

• Conduct thorough statutory and regulatory research on real estate and association law

• Assist in preparing for and participating in board meetings, local government hearings, and select court proceedings

• Provide support in managing files and drafting pleadings or correspondence related to litigation matters

• Collaborate with senior attorneys to formulate client strategies

• Review and negotiate agreements, including settlement-related documents

• Ensure clients remain compliant with applicable legal requirements and best practices

Requirements:

• 1-7 years of legal practice in real estate law, community association law, or a related advisory field

• Background in working with community associations or other Florida-regulated business entities

• Admitted and in good standing with The Florida Bar

• Experience with both transactional and limited litigation support work

• Interest in long-term client advisory relationships

• A portable book of business is considered an asset but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

Skills:

• Strong command of legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis

• Exceptional drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Confident communicator, able to engage with clients and public officials

• Highly organized, with proven ability to manage competing priorities

• Independent worker with sound judgment and team collaboration mindset

• Familiarity with Florida statutes relevant to community associations and real property
