Job Title: Real Estate /Commercial Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in New York City, NY seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its thriving real estate and commercial disputes practice. Duties:

• Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery-related motions

• Make daily court appearances in NYC Landlord-Tenant courts

• Try cases and represent clients in non-payment and holdover proceedings

• Prepare and review predicate notices such as rent demands, cure notices, and termination notices

• Draft pleadings in breach of contract, lease, and guaranty-related actions

• Negotiate and draft lease modifications, surrender agreements, and related documents

• Provide ongoing legal counsel to real estate owners and operators across various asset classes

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and respond efficiently to high email volumes

• Participate in occasional evening or weekend work, as required to meet deadlines

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant litigation experience

• Substantial courtroom experience in NYC Landlord-Tenant matters

• Proficiency in drafting litigation documents and transactional lease-related agreements

• Ability to manage a high volume of internal and external communications

• Background in commercial and construction litigation (preferred)

• Landlord/Tenant trial experience (preferred)

• Flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement: at least 3 days in office

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required)
