Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This role is ideal for a mid-level attorney (4–7 years of experience) with strong insurance coverage and commercial litigation skills. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded team that handles complex and high-exposure matters for insurers across a variety of policy lines. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney to grow in a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Duties

  • Handle complex insurance and reinsurance litigation matters

  • Analyze and litigate coverage issues involving:

    • Professional liability insurance

    • General liability insurance

    • Directors and Officers (D&O) insurance

  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda

  • Manage all phases of discovery, including motion practice and depositions

  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and proceedings

  • Independently manage case assignments with oversight from senior attorneys

  • Participate in client management and contribute to business development initiatives

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

  • Experience handling depositions, discovery, pleadings, and court appearances

  • Understanding of complex policy language and insurance dispute resolution

  • Preferred experience with client interaction and business development

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters with minimal supervision

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

  • Superior written and verbal communication

  • Advanced legal analysis and litigation strategy

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance legal team

  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management systems
