The Role
The IT Project Manager works with OCM Analysts and Business Analysts to identify and plan the right approach for the appropriate engagement with IT and business SMEs to successfully deliver products within timescale, within budget and to meet the expectations and success criteria of the original mandate. This includes adapting to changes throughout the project lifecycle by proactively engaging SMEs, governance bodies and the business in the appropriate way to keep plans on track and provide constant reporting, assessment of the output of reports and the appropriate action to rectify issues.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
Create and manage stakeholder and communication plans
Manage the full lifecycle of complex projects, including: requirements gathering, procurement, design, development, testing, implementation and operational handover
Budget ownership, management and financial accounting
Risk and issue management
Work and resource assignment
Identify the relevant stakeholders; work with OCM Analysts to develop the appropriate approach to delivery to fully embed the product into the business' operation
Work with OCM Analysts and Business Analysts to identify and manage the
realization
of the benefits and value to be delivered by projects
Identify clear roles and responsibilities for all members of project teams
Working with SME teams to identify and manage resource capacity plans
Business and SME Engagement
Create business cases, incorporating feasibility studies and research; liaising with stakeholders at all levels and subject matter experts to elicit and define business requirements
Ensure OCM Analysts are constantly engaged with the business to ensure products are smoothly transitioned into operations and change management aspects are understood
Ensure Business Analysts are constantly engaged with the business to ensure the products meet business expectations
Contribute to the on-going development of the firm's approach to project and change management, addressing processes, tools and techniques
Ensure appropriate SME teams are engaged and are clear on their roles for successful delivery of projects
Governance
Identify appropriate stakeholders and leaders to provide the appropriate level of governance for the project being delivered
Organize
and lead the appropriate formal governance of one or more projects
Manage the commercial and legal aspects of projects, including risk assessments, tenders and related commercial and legal negotiations
Ensure all handover, support and systems documentation is produced and signed off
Reporting and measurement
Working with OCM Analysts to ensure value proposition and success criteria are constantly measured and plans are kept on track in response
Working with Business Analysis team to ensure business requirements are constantly measured to ensure business expectations are met and plans are kept on track in response
Working with Portfolio Analysts, ensure project status reporting is regularly kept up to date and delivered in the format as required by IT Leadership and project governance bodies
Clyde & Co shifted to virtual work for the majority of our lawyers and business services team with the global outbreak of Covid-19.
