Spring Legal Internship

Intern can expect an educational experience learning about criminal law, the courts, and the role the District Attorney plays as advocate for the People. Will become acquainted with many of the prosecutors and staff in this Office. Will be involved in a wide variety of cases, both misdemeanor and felony. A day in the life of a typical intern involves drafting motions and memoranda of points and authorities, conducting research on complicated legal issues, and, if are certified, arguing the People’s position in the courtroom. We also encourage interns to observe ongoing trials to learn about the criminal justice system and gain better insight into what it is like to be a prosecutor. Ultimately, may have the opportunity to conduct a jury trial in a misdemeanor case.
