Responsibilities: Provide counsel to domestic teams, including intaking, summarizing and assessing the applicability of new and existing laws or regulations. Provide legal support to legal, compliance, and business units regarding state insurance and healthcare law impacts to strategic initiatives Draft cogent Regulatory Instructions (RIs) communicating the impact of new laws/regulations and present RIs to committees comprised of internal operational and business areas. Conduct legal research on regulatory topics. Prepare comprehensive summaries of research findings including Common Bulletins as needed. Answer questions from business areas as they relate to research findings and provide advice on interpretation of the research findings, specifically impacts on or barriers to proposed new business strategies. Draft documentation to explain regulatory topics trending across states. Act as a Subject Matter Expert on various state regulatory topics. Provide subject matter expertise for assigned topics on compliance impact; serve as a single point of contact for business and product strategic needs. Provide support to colleagues in Legal, Compliance and business units for responses to regulatory inquiries or complaints, and support business operations by providing reliable and timely guidance on daily regulatory issues. Work on assigned projects independently or with other team members.
