Location:
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Duties:
Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court testimony
Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
Prepare and file a wide range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and humanitarian relief
Visit detention centers and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals
Review and revise immigration application packets and supporting documentation
Provide legal analysis and identify available relief options for clients
Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and memoranda
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on policy updates and legal outreach
Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and manage active caseloads
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience practicing immigration law
Demonstrated ability to manage cases from intake through resolution
Familiarity with USCIS procedures, EOIR practices, and removal defense
Strong commitment to client advocacy and legal ethics
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
Skills:
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Effective interpersonal communication and collaboration abilities
Experience with family-based petitions, citizenship, humanitarian relief, and detained cases
Proficiency in immigration case management software preferred
