Job Overview: A law firm in Oxford, MS, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Member Attorney. This role requires a dedicated professional with extensive litigation experience, exceptional legal knowledge, and the ability to manage complex cases from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will have over seven years of litigation experience and must be licensed to practice in Mississippi. A Juris Doctorate and Bar Admission in Mississippi are mandatory.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Develop and implement case strategies, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to effectively handle cases.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring their interests are effectively represented.
  • Conduct negotiations and settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Prepare and present cases to judges and juries.
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in the law and manage continuing legal education requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Participate in business development and networking activities to support the firm's growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of litigation experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and rules.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex litigation cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Mississippi State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and case management software.
