Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Commercial Litigator to join its team in Towson, MD. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of substantive litigation experience, with a strong background in general commercial litigation, construction litigation, and surety law. Duties

• Represent clients in construction, surety, and commercial disputes from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and handle court appearances.
• Provide strategic counsel to clients and participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with senior attorneys and partners.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Maryland Bar (DC or VA admission a plus).
• 5-10 years of relevant litigation experience, including substantial courtroom and deposition experience.
• Strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, or sureties is strongly preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Maryland Bar.
