Head of Global Institutional and Distribution Legal, VP & Associate General Counsel
The candidate will apply breadth of experience and expertise to facilitate the focused growth of the Institutional business. Advise on Investment Advisers Act and ERISA issues. Negotiate investment management agreements. Inform on licensing, trading, performance, and marketing issues. Form and ongoing support of institutional pooled vehicles (e.g., bank collective funds and private funds). Develop the skills, experiences and career paths of team members. Should have 10+ years of institutional asset management experience, at least five of which are in-house at a large asset management firm, asset management division of a major financial institution, or a smaller pure-play asset management firm focused on institutional distribution. Global experience is strongly preferred. U.S. retail mutual fund experience is a plus. Strong technical expertise. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Leadership and people management experience. Demonstrated strategic insight and consultation skills. Ability to adapt. Sound commercial judgment.
