Associate Attorney needed for Daly City office

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for their Daly City, CA office. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of legal tasks with a substantial amount of responsibility and appropriate supervision. Duties include drafting pleadings and correspondence, taking and defending depositions, working with clients on day-to-day inquiries, handling a large caseload, drafting discovery, document review, and attending court hearings. Candidates must be licensed in California, and post-Bar applicants awaiting Bar results will have the opportunity to move into an Associate position once sworn in. Strong communication and writing skills are essential. Experience or interest in Construction Defect, litigation, and/or public entity defense is a plus.

Duties:

• Draft pleadings and correspondence
• Take and defend depositions
• Work with clients on day-to-day inquiries
• Handle a large caseload
• Draft discovery
• Conduct document review
• Attend court hearings

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed in California for the Associate position
• 0-4 years of experience

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

California Bar license

Skills:

• Strong communication skills
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to work independently and with appropriate supervision
• Experience or interest in Construction Defect, litigation, and/or public entity defense is a plus.
