Counsel
The candidate will provide opinions and advice on general business, corporate matters, and litigation. Assist or represent the company in negotiations with third parties. Review and develop contracts, joint venture agreements, leases, and other documents and suggest modifications, revisions and clarifications to protect the company's interests. Manage litigation, draft original documents, and conduct negotiations as directed. Evaluate the impact of new statutes, regulations, and court decisions on company operations. Advise and counsel management on legal and business matters and risk management. Other duties as assigned. Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependant) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening. Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Accredited professional law degree based on country requirements and five (5)years of work-related experience; a professional license, certification, or registration that may be required in order to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. Experience working in either private practice or corporate or government environment. Applicable license(s) and registration(s) in area of specialty or discipline. Outstanding project management, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and writing skills. Highly organized, detail oriented, with strong ability to prioritize. Demonstrated experience in a broad range of substantive legal and business areas. Flexibility, versatility and ability to deal with multiple issues, priorities, and personnel is expected and required. Capacity to collaborate with others and outstanding time-management abilities are essential. Demonstrated ability to work with and manage outside counsel and deal with internal clients at many different levels within an organization. Proficient in the use of computers to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs.
