Job Overview
A law firm seeks a New York-licensed associate attorney to manage a serious litigation caseload from intake through resolution. This full-time remote position requires some in-person court appearances as needed. The role is ideal for a proactive attorney who can work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Duties

• Independently handle motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases from summons to settlement or trial.
• Draft and argue summary judgment, discovery, and default motions.
• Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, and witnesses.
• Manage discovery, motion practice, expert coordination, and trial preparation.
• Negotiate settlements to maximize client recovery.
• Collaborate with support staff to drive cases forward efficiently.
• Maintain high professional standards for pleadings, deadlines, and client communication.

Requirements

• Active NYS bar admission required.
• At least 3 years of experience in plaintiff's personal injury litigation in New York State.
• Experience handling motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases.
• Comfortable drafting dispositive motions and managing depositions independently.
• Strong organization, judgment, and time-management skills.
• Ability to delegate and maintain organized workflows with paralegals and staff.
• Able to work remotely with minimal supervision.
• Trial-oriented mindset and comfort pushing cases when appropriate.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active New York State Bar license.
