Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney for its Boston, MA office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking efficiently. They will represent the firm in a manner that enhances its reputation and handle cases from inception through trial.

Duties

• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial with minimal supervision.
• Draft discovery pleadings and motions; take and defend depositions.
• Participate in client intake and trial preparation.
• Formulate case strategy and advise clients on risk mitigation.
• Conduct research and manage comprehensive case management.
• Manage the discovery process and supervise document review projects.
• Perform complex legal research using Lexis and other tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
• General civil litigation experience required; domestic relations experience beneficial.
• First or second chair trial experience preferable.
• Experience with drafting complex pleadings and arguing motions.
• Mediation and arbitration experience preferable.

Education

• Bachelor's degree and J.D. degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice in Massachusetts and in good standing.
• Additional admission in Rhode Island preferred.

Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially.
