Job Overview:
A well-established general practice law firm is seeking an Employment Law & Litigation Associate to join its legal team in New Haven, Connecticut. Location:

Duties:
Provide legal counsel in employment law matters involving wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour claims, defamation, and trade secret disputes
Draft, review, and enforce employment contracts and restrictive covenants
Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
Take and defend depositions
Represent clients in administrative hearings, as well as in state and federal court proceedings
Assist in the defense of employment-related class action litigation
Advise clients on compliance, risk avoidance, internal investigations, and dispute resolution strategies
Requirements:
1–5 years of legal experience, preferably in employment law or general litigation
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
Prior experience handling employment litigation, motion practice, or client counseling preferred
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Admission to practice law in the State of Connecticut (required)
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
Active member of the Connecticut State Bar
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication abilities
Strong organizational and case management skills
Proficient in handling discovery and preparing for trial
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Able to effectively interact with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams
